Meet Michael Boyle, MD

Oculoplastic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist

Dr. Boyle is a specialist in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive surgery. He grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology at Saint Xavier University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He completed medical school at the University of Illinois, where he graduated with honors. After medical school, he completed an ophthalmology residency at Indiana University.

 

During residency, he became fascinated with the myriad of complex procedures and anatomy involved in the treatment of eyelid and periocular disease. This interest led him to his ultimate career choice. He was able to obtain and complete a highly regarded oculoplastic fellowship at the Callahan Eye Hospital, in the University of Alabama, Birmingham.

 

Dr. Boyle is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a fellow of the American Academy if Ophthalmology (AAO) and the American Society Oculoplastic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). Over the years, he has published numerous scientific articles and presented at multiple meetings throughout the country. After completion of his training in 2008, Dr. Boyle worked in a large multi specialty ophthalmology practice in the Grand Rapids area. He is excited to join Dr. Kent, in a practice dedicated to oculplastic surgery.

 

When not working, Dr. Boyle likes to spend time traveling with his wife and three children. He also enjoys playing classical guitar and fly fishing.
